Abstract
Some nuclear properties related to fission were found to be . correlated to the 2Z - N values of the nuclei (Z atomic number, N number of neutrons). It was suggested that these correlations point to a cluster structure of the nucleus. It was found that most of the heavy nuclides with 2Z - N = 42 ± 2 are fissile.
