Abstract

6Li is the best nuclear fuel for aneutronic fusion, namely a fuel cycle practically free from radioactive elements. In order to consider 6Li as a nuclear fuel more information is needed about its cross sections. In this work we present some aspects of 6Li, like the magnetic moment and the r.m.s. (root mean square), which suggest that 6Li is best represented in the framework of the deuteron model. A semi-empirical formula for the r.m.s. of N = Z nuclei is also presented.
