Abstract

Space-variant polarization manipulation of thermal emission in a narrow spectral-peak is presented. The emission is attributed to surface phonon-polariton excitation from space-variant subwavelength SiO2 gratings. We experimentally demonstrated thermal emission in an axially symmetric polarization distribution.
