Abstract

Papers are presented on multiple-quantum-well CCD spatial light modulators, the electrooptical performance of an improved deformable mirror device, ferroelectric liquid crystal devices, and quantum wells for optical processing applications. Also considered are n-i-p-i superlattices for electrooptic applications, the photorefractive effect in BaTiO3:Fe, and the capacity of optical correlators. Other topics include optical correlation with phase encoding and phase filtering, a fiber-optic crossbar switch with broadcast capability, color image correlation using a magnetooptic spatial light modulator, and phase conjugation of low-power optical beams using liquid-crystal light valves.
