Abstract
The complex spatial polarization and space charge distribution in poled semicrystalline polymers may be determined by a Laser Intensity Modulation Method (LIMM). The method is based upon measurement of the pyroelectric current generated by an electret (i. e. poled polymer in the present case) when it is heated with a He-Ne laser beam which is intensity modulated at frequencies in the range 10-2500 Hz. A mathematical deconvolution technique is used to compute the polarization and space charge distributions from the observed pyroelectric current frequency data.
