Abstract

Resonances in the magnetic decoupling curves of Rb were taken into account. The observed resonances, coupled with the observed pressure and field dependences of Cs, prove that a major contribution to the spin relaxation of hot, dense alkali-metal vapors is caused by the spin-axis interaction in triplet divapors is caused by the spin-axis interaction is triplet dimers.
