Splitting of the lowest T = 2 states in 44Ti, 48Cr and 52Fe

Abstract

A high-resolution study of the 46Ti, 50Cr, 54Fe(p,t)44Ti, 48Cr, 52Fe reactions provides evidence for the spliting of the lowest double analog states in 44Ti and 48Cr. The splitting is 20 ± 2 KeV in 44Ti and 10 ± 2 KeV in 48Cr. Splitting of the T = 2 state in 52Fe could not be identified. Together with the previously observed splitting in 56Ni the present results suggest that splitting is a common occurence for self-conjugate nuclei in the f 7 2 shell.
