Abstract

In this study we report the fabrication and characterization of a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) based fiber-optic sensor for the detection of cholesterol in 0 to 10 mM concentration range. The sensor works on spectral interrogation method. The change in resonance wavelength is due to the enzymatic reaction between cholesterol and cholesterol oxidase (Chox).
