Stability of polarization vortices in self-focusing Kerr media

Abstract

We investigate the collapse dynamics and polarization stability of radially and azimuthally polarized vortex beams in Kerr media. The beams break up into distinct collapsing filaments with the initial local polarization distribution being maintained.
