Abstract

An x-ray photoelectron spectroscopic method has been used to investigate the composition of the surface and the state of the components at different stages of forming aluminoplatinum catalysts promoted by In or Sn. It has been shown that the reactions of deposited components during the calcining and reduction stages are accompanied by partial transfer of electron density from Pt to the promoter. It has been established that preliminary calcination of the catalyst facilitates the formation of metal-ionic aggregates and to a surface enrichment in platinum.
