N2 - We study the possibility to steer the state of a single-input single-output linear switched system to the origin in finite time by output feedback with finite memory. We show that if the system is in a controller canonical form, a causal state nullifying controller exists. We also show that, generically, only acausal feedback can achieve state nullification.
