STOCHASTIC MODEL FOR THE LONG-TERM BEHAVIOR OF BATTERY STORAGE IN PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS.

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

This work describes an analytical model for battery storage in a photovoltaic system which takes into account the frequency of occurrence of radiation input and load values. Introduction of the correlation time of the input affects the probability distribution of the battery charging level in the neighborhood of the two end points (empty and full). These end regions determine the amount of required back-up energy as well as energy dumping and loss-of-power probability. The method is applicable to other storage devices such as water reservoirs.
