Abstract

Strong anisotropy in the nuclear resonance scattering of photons from a ¹⁵N target in the form of pyrolytic boron nitride (PBN) was observed. This is explained quantitatively in terms of the high anisotropy in the atomic binding properties of the BN lattice.
