Abstract

Wave propagation in a liquid with vapour bubbles is under study. The structure and dynamics of linear waves are investigated. The calculated results are compared with the results of experiments on vapor-water and vapor-freon mixtures. The dynamics of non-linear waves is also under study. A model is offered and numerical and experimental investigations have been performed which concern the structure and dynamics of nonlinear waves. The problem about the existence of shock waves is also considered.
