Abstract
The molecular dynamics of fine-staple, medium-staple and wilt-ridden Asiatic-type cotton fibres have been studied by the spin label method (electron spin resonance). The mechanical-strength parameters of the fibres (Zhurkov equation) correlate with the relative concentration of 'friable' structural defects and with the rotational mobility of the spin labels on them.
