Abstract

The incidence of echinococcosis in Russia has increased by 3 times over the past 25 years. Difficult diagnosis and multiple organ lesion require a multidisciplinary approach in the treatment of these patients. Intracardiac echinococcosis is less common than other lesions. However, this disease is characterized by higher mortality rate. Severe course of disease, high incidence of recurrence justify the need to optimize treatment strategy and to develop certain measures aimed at improving survival rates. Clinical case of successful surgical treatment of a patient with cardiac echinococcosis is shown in the article.
