Abstract
The isostructural title compounds [(Me 2M) 6E(ESiMe 3) 4] (M = Ga, In; E = S, Se) crystallize in space group C2/c and consist of two M 3E 3 rings in twist conformation, sharing a common chalcogen atom. The reactivity of the remaining M-CH 3 and E-SiMe 3 bonds can be used for further reactions.
