Abstract
The compound [CpFe(CO)2]2Sn(C≡CPh)2 (I) was synthesized by reacting [CpFe(CO)2]2SnCl 2 with (phenylethynyl)lithium. Complex I coordinates the Co 2(CO)6 fragment through one of the ethynyl groups to form the new heterometallic cluster [CpFe(CO)2]2Sn(C≡CPh) (μ-C≡CPh)Co2(CO)6 (II). The reaction of I with silver trifluoroacetate leads to the elimination of ethynyl groups and the formation of the dimeric complex [CpFe(CO)2(OOCCF3) Sn(μ-OH)]2 (III). The structures of II and III were studied by X-ray single-crystal diffraction.
