Abstract

The paramagnetic mononuclear cyclopentadienylnitrosopentasulfide complex CpMn(NO)S₅ and the formally biradical diamagnetic binuclear cyclopentadienylnitrosodisulfide complex [CpMn(NO)(S₂)]₂ were synthesized as a result of treatment of [CpMn(CO)(NO)]₂ with an excess of elemental sulfur in boiling tetrahydrofuran. The diamagnetic complex CpMn(NO)(S₂CNEt₂) containing a manganese atom in a similar ligand environment was obtained by the interaction of [CpMn(CO) ₂(NO)]PF₆ with sodium diethyldithiocarbamate. The structure of the synthesized complexes was solved by X-ray crystallography.
