Abstract
Methods are presented for the analysis and synthesis of the configurations of any type of machine tool based on mathematical models of the form generation process for surfaces. The classification is given and the analytical apparatus for recording form generation schemes is developed from which one can obtain the relationships that determine the functional characteristics of the machine tool.
