Tapered single-mode optical fiber as a penicillin sensor

Abstract

This paper presents an evanescent field sensor for measuring penicillin based on the immobilization of Bacillus Cereus penicillinase on the surface of a tapered single mode optical fiber. Excellent potential of the tapered single-mode fiber as a sensor for biochemicals is demonstrated by this penicillin sensor.
