Tel Erani: reassessing old published records

Abstract

It is with great respect that I dedicate this article to my colleague, friend and former professor, Itzhak (Itzik) Gilead.
As a BA student I had the great opportunity to participate in the excavations at Tel Erani, which Itzik directed in collaboration with Aharon Kempinski. That unique experience, as well as the following ongoing discussions with Itzik and Aharon about the interpretations of that dig, triggered the subsequent track of my academic career. For all that I am sincerely grateful to Itzik.
