Termination of midtrimester pregnancy by intra-amniotic injection of urea

Abstract

Intra-amniotic instillation of urea solution (Urevert) was used to induce midtrimester therapeutic abortion in 38 patients. The method was successful in 35 patients (92%), with a mean injection-abortion interval of 26.1 hours. In 3 patients with missed labor, this method gave rapid effect. There were no serious side effects or complications.
