Abstract

An attempt is made to interpret the physical meaning of the concept of 'sensitive site' used in microdosimetric modelling studies of TL efficiency in LiF:Mg,Ti and LiF:Mg,Cu,P. It is suggested that a reasonable interpretation of the radius of the 'sensitive site' is probably not the average distance between Mg-based trapping sites, but rather may be an average over the recombination charge carrier migration distances in the two materials.
