Abstract

Here we develop a succinct, yet comprehensive concept of information. The essential components are Latent Information (LI) and Information in Transit (IiT). In addition are the translators, whose function is to transform LI into IiT and vice versa. The concept is an attempt to obtain a very general definition that applies to all kinds of systems and disciplines, keeping it at the same time as short as possible. Currently we do not discuss quantification of the transferred message.
