Abstract

The Corfu etrog citron (pl. etrogim) polemic raged within the Jewish community of Europe during the course of the nineteenth century. This polemic was part of a larger controversy regarding the use of etrogim from grafted trees that began in the sixteenth century, initially in Italy and the Land of Israel.
