Abstract
Analyzes the adoption of industry as a development agent by kibbutzim in Israel within the context of a spatial diffusion process. Analysis at the subdistrict level of aggregation shows quite a regular pattern of the spatial diffusion of an economic developmental agent from core to peripheral areas. At the local kibbutz level, however, it appears that this regularity is only structural and that the process has to be understood through a penetrating analysis, over time, of specific internal factors within kibbutzim.-B.W.Beeley
