Abstract

The distribution of persistent currents of small disordered 2D cylinders are calculated by an exact numerical diagonalization of a tight-binding interacting model Hamiltonian. The distribution is strongly influenced by the strength of the electron-electron (e-e) interactions. For strong e-e interactions there is almost no probability of measuring persistent currents in the direction opposite to the average current.
