Abstract

A case study of effluents form Wayatinah and Florentine fish hatcheries to evaluate their potential environmental harm was presented. Samples were taken every two weeks of the effluent and were tested for nutrients and other critical environment parameters. It was concluded that the discharges form the Wayatinah and Floretine hatcheries complied with the current regulations. The study suggested that, it is worthwhile to consider increasing the effluent quality by improving the settling ponds, by adjusting management practices, and by conducting monitoring program.
