Abstract

A couple that has had trouble in having children makes every effort in order to have offspring, and when the woman experiences recurrent miscarriages she feels anxiety and helplessness regarding her ability to achieve her goal. Also, the woman meets the immediate surroundings expects her to be a mother. She experienced the disappointment of her as a woman. The woman also feels worried about her next pregnancy. Such women often experience distress, pain, sorrow, a feeling of loss of control and helplessness. Management for recurrent pregnancy loss is a challenge both for the woman and for her tending physician. The treatment for an unexplained miscarriage involves elements of uncertainty and much trial and error. The uncertainty increases stress and anxiety for the woman. Emotional support for these women using methods such as NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction), Relaxation and Guided Imagery can help to reduce anxiety and depression and to strengthen her inner resources to go through another pregnancy with a sense of well-being and belief in the outcome.
