Abstract

The performance envelope that can be achieved by a pneumatic conveying system is constrained by the properties of the bulk material being transported and components that comprise the system. This paper examines the influence of pipeline geometry on the performance envelope. The contribution of straight pipe and bends to the overall pressure drop is assessed for both dilute and dense phase flows.
