Abstract
The spectra of normal and ca. 90 atom % triphenylarsine [ 18O]oxicle have been measured in the 3700-420 cm.-1 region, for chloroform, bromoform, and acetonitrile solutions, and assignment of the observed bands made. The As=16O band at 880 cm.-1 appears to be the only one which is shifted in the case of the labelled oxide, and the observed shift (40 cm.-1) is in agreement with that expected from theory (41 cm.-1). The relative integrated absorption intensity of the As=18O band is only 82% of that for the As=16O band, while the expected value is as high as 91%.
