Abstract

We show that SHG from gold nanoparticles close to a thick silver layer is different from known theory expectations. Consequently, we propose a quasi-static interaction model that is relevant for extreme nano-sized objects at hand. Good agreement of the proposed model with the measured data opens new possibilities for nonlinear plasmonics.
