Many glycosides isolated from these plants showed various medicinal properties. The purpose of this review is to provide the verified data on the anti-viral, anti-microbial, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, anti-oxidant and anti-diabetic activities of the glycosides extracted from the medicinal plants of the Mediterranean flora and to discuss the various mechanisms of their actions.
