Abstract

This chapter reviews benchmarking studies of 2D and 3D-DDA performed by the rock mechanics group at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev over the past decade. DDA fundamentals are briefly reviewed first, followed by a comprehensive review of verification and validation studies. We conclude by presenting some limitations of 3DDDA in its current formulation.
