Abstract
Theoretical investigation shows that during the chemical pumping of high vibrational levels of diatomic molecules partial population inversion between these levels can exist much longer than that for the vibrational transition 1-0. In case of fast VV exchange the "long" inversion appears long after finishing of the inversion for the 1→0 transition. It lasts up to completion of the chemical pumping reaction. The calculations are made for a number of mixtures used as active media for available lasers: H2/F2, CS2/O2.
