Abstract

Nahal Beset I (map ref. 1711 2753), approximately 15 km. east of the present
Mediterranean shore at an elevation of 210 m. above sea-level, was excavated in
1986-1987 by Avi Gopher in the framework of an excavation project in the Upper Galilee.1 An area of 70 m.2 (damaged by road construction in the early 1960s) was excavated in the north-eastern part of the site, which slopes moderately to the present channel of N. Beset. A few test pits were excavated in other areas of the site, enabling an estimate of the site's total area at around 2,000 m.
