Abstract

It is widely agreed that the South Arabian Kingdom of Hymar was subdued by the Ethiopian kingdom of Aksum sometime in the 250's in response to the massacre in 523 of the Christian inhabitants of Nagran (Arabic Najran) by Yusuf As'ar Yath'ar (Mashruq, in Syriac).
