The Thermometer—From The Feeling To The Instrument

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The thermometer, as we know it today, is the result of a long trial and error process. It began with a physiological description of temperature and evolved to the present state. The different stages in its development reflect the state of science at the time as well as the ingenuity of scientists to realize and overcome the shortcomings of science during each stage.
