Abstract
The authors develop a basic theory for the evaluation of scattering amplitudes pertaining to the reactions π- + 3He → n + n + p (or nd) at threshold (Tπ ≈ 0). They believe that the numerical solution of the resulting equations is feasible so that the theory can be confronted with very recent experiments.
