Abstract

A computer code for a comprehensive design of a magnetically focused long electron gun is presented. An optimal design of the magnetic-field generating coils for vessels within practical design constraints was investigated. Three such designs are presented. The three-dimensional model is verified experimentally on a scaled down model.
