Abstract

A patent-pending artificial calling song attracts female Mediterranean fruit flies - nasty but common agricultural pests in most parts of the world as well as culprits of damage to more than 250 different types of fruit. The technique can be used to attract the female flies in order to monitor and control the buzzing foragers.
