Abstract
This article presents a novel, simple and planar design of a CPW-fed tri-band and dual polarized monopole antenna. The proposed structure includes inverted L-shape monopole along with an L-shaped parasitic resonator. Two radiating stubs have been connected to the ground to obtain triple band characteristics. Grounded flag shaped stub provides orthogonal components of electric fields with 90° phase difference to implement 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth of 3.3% at center frequency 3.6 GHz. The proposed antenna is appropriate for different wireless application such as Bluetooth/WLAN (2.4–2.485 GHz), WiMAX (3.3–3.65, 5.25–5.85 GHz), and WLAN (5.15–5.35, 5.725–5.825 GHz) bands. The bandwidth of the 3-dB axial ratio for the RHCP state is about 120 MHz towards broadside direction for 3.6 GHz WiMAX.
