Abstract
Low temperature synthesis of CdSxSe1-x 2D nanosheets allows tuning of the optoelectronic properties by surface engineering. Analysis by ligand exchange revealed a Se-rich surface. By adjusting the reaction temperature, it was possible to control the surface passivation thus using the charge transfer to the ligands for reduced recombination and emission. These structures can be used for applications where fast recombination should be avoided, such as photocatalysis.
