(March 21 issue)1 are disturbing indeed to those of us who have accepted the basic validity of Friedman and Rosenman's Type A behavior pattern as a risk factor for new and recurrent ischemic cardiac events.23456789 This study is the first of acceptable methods to refute the role of the Type A behavior pattern as a predictor of recurrent coronary events.10, 11 Although the Jenkins Activity Survey may not be the best predictor of the onset or progression of coronary heart disease,12 no one can seriously dispute its validity as.
