Abstract
Longitudinal and shear sound velocities have been measured near the spin-reorientation transitions in ErFeO3 at hydrostatic pressure up to 2.4 kbar. The results, which are analyzed in terms of a phenomenological theory with magnetoelastic coupling terms, show that hydrostatic pressure has a very small effect on the magnetic anisotropy constants.
