Abstract

A unified gauge field theory of gravitational and electromagnetic interactions is presented. The theory uses the product group SL 2, c ⊗U 1 as the underlying gauge group similarly to the way the product group SU 2⊗U 1 is employed as the underlying gauge group in the Weinberg-Salam model for weak and electromagnetic interactions. The field equations obtained are shown to be equivalent to the coupled Einstein-Maxwell equations.
