Abstract

Several improvements to the semiclassical description of BECs were established. The resultant analytical approximations were derived by performing direct numerical calculations of bound states and of dynamics in a time-dependent potential. The the probability distributions obtained were compared with full 3D results. The comparison showed that the analytical approximations are quite accurate.
