Abstract

Condensation of N,N-dimethyl-p-nitrosoaniline with 2-thioxo-2H- thieno[2,3-d]thiazole-6(5H)-ones 2a, 2b and 2-thioxo-2H-thieno[2,3-d]-1,3- dithiole-6(5H)-one 3, leads unexpectedly to the formation of 2,1- benzisothiazole derivatives.
