Abstract
Many antimycotic agents in a variety of formulations are available for treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis. Nevertheless, numerous controversial issues remain concerning appropiate therapy for acute and chronic infections. Several complex issues have appeared in regard to treatment of women with human immunodeficiency virus infection and infection caused by non-albicans Candida species and resistant strains of Candida albicans.
